AÂ real institution of Lyon At its creation, in 1875, this hotel located close to the "Vieux Lyon" and to "Lyon Saint Jean", was named "Globe and Rome Hotel". It was then referenced at The Vatican as establishment enjoying a good reputation where the prelates could stay. For commercial reasons, upon the separation of the Church and the State in 1905, the "Globe and Rome" becomes the Globe and Cecil, with reference to the name of its English native owner. Today, if he has lost nothing of its charm, the Globe and Cecil is resolutely entered in the modernity and remains one of the last independent hotel of Lyon. |
